Privacy, Security, Disclaimer & Copyright Privacy Policy Security Policy Disclaimer Copyright Personal Information Academy Graduates Association members are required to provide personal information upon joining the AGA. This information is published in the AGA’s password-protected Members Only website and specifically in the AGA Contact Member Database and the AGA Members Register. By becoming a member of the Association, members permit the AGA to publish personal information on these web pages and to retain a hard copy version of the information for AGA files. Every effort has been taken to ensure that your personal details are kept safe. It is AGA policy not to provide your personal information to third parties, without your individual consent. Access to Personal Information. Members need to be cognisant that their personal contact details, listed in the AGA Contact Member Database and the AGA Members Register, can be viewed by all AGA members. When registering, members may choose not to provide some elements of personal information, such as home address and telephone number, if they so desire. AGA members are required to provide an email address upon joining the Association. Email constitutes the principal means of information dissemination in the Association. As a member, you will periodically receive emails from the Association, including newsletters, announcements and notification of the requirement to renew your membership. Members may choose not to receive emails from the AGA, if they so desire, however this is not advisable given that email is the primary means of notification (send an email to contact@adfagrad.org to be removed from the mailing list). Password information You will need to specify an online username and password when you become a member of the Association. This information is private and is not to be divulged to others. Improper use of your password will result in disciplinary action as specified in Section 13 of the AGA Constitution. Should you lose it, you will need to specify a new one using our membership interface. More information If you require further clarification about the AGA’s Privacy policy, please contact us at contact@adfagrad.org. More information about Privacy law and the National Privacy Principles is available from the Federal Privacy Commissioner at http://www.privacy.gov.au. Credit Card Security Credit card details provided to the AGA via this website are transmitted, stored and retrieved securely. Our shopping cart system uses a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection to ensure that your personal data is secure during transmission between your computer and our host server. What is SSL? The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, originally developed by Netscape, has become the universal standard on the Web for authenticating Web sites to Web browser users, and for encrypting communications between browser users and Web servers. The prefix https://, instead of http://, in the browser address bar on the credit card payment page denotes that the information you are sending is being transmitted securely. Once your credit card information has been submitted, the information is transmitted and stored on our host server. When it arrives, the information is encrypted using GNU Privacy Guard (GPG) software. The AGA General Manager is the only person who has access to the encryption key to access and decrypt the information files for processing. The AGA General Manager periodically accesses the encrypted files on the server and prints the payment information. Your credit card is debited and the printed record of your credit card details is then destroyed. The AGA does not keep records of members’ credit card numbers. Information Content The information provided on the AGA web site is presented ‘as is’ for the benefit of AGA members. Every effort is made to ensure the quality of the information available on this web site. However, we cannot guarantee and we assume no legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, currency or completeness of the information. Some historical information presented on the web site, such as the Lego Lingo listing, may be offensive to some members. Appropriate warnings and disclaimers are provided to alert those who may take offence. By including this information, the AGA deems that the benefits of historical perpetuity outweigh the potential for personal offence and the resultant consequences.
